OCP Contractors has three full time safety professionals on staff with a combined experience of over 45 years. Each company safety director has an OSHA 30 hour Construction Card, is a Qualified OSHA 500 Trainer, Qualified Respirator Fit Tester, a Certified Trainer for scissor lifts and extensible boom lifts, and a Certified Trainer in Hiti Powder Actuated Tools. OCP also has a Certified Trainer in Red Crosses' First Aid/CPR. The Corporate Safety Director is a Certified Safety Professional with a CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) designation, a Mold Loss Prevention Designation with the IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Association), and an ex-OSHA Compliance Officer. The staff is supported by two safety committees comprised of members from all employed trades and management. All OCP employees (field and office) are required to obtain their OSHA 30 hour Construction Card within 60 days of their hire.
OCP has graduated from the OSHA Challenge program which means OCP goes beyond OSHA's minimal standards. OCP actively enforces 100% safety glasses, hard hat, and gloves while working with metal PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Policy on its employees, subs, and suppliers while on your work site. OCP is a pre-approved BWC Drug Free Contractor which requires Pre-Employment, Post Accident, Reasonable Suspicion, and Random drug testing. All of these screenings are subject to a breath alcohol test and a 9 Panel Plus test which tests for three more drugs over the commonly used 10 panel test. OCP’s Safety and Health Program has been audited by PICS and outside consultation firm that prequalifies contractors for business such as BASF and BP. This rigorous three day audit ensures contractors have all written programs in line and more importantly use the written programs. OCP’s program has been accepted by organizations such as the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant which has to meet the standards set by NRC.
