  • Industry Tenure: 16 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 3 Years
  • What is your favorite aspect of your job?
  • Seeing it start as a skeleton and seeing the end result, seeing all the finishes put in. I like doing woodworking and casework.
  • What hobbies do you have outside of work?
  • I like baseball. I coach 12 and 13-year-old boys’ baseball. I’ve done that for about 10 years. I have a 19-year-old son that I actually coached when he was 5. He plays baseball in college now at Kent State. I have 3 boys.
  • What is your favorite project you have worked on?
  • I would have to say the job I’m currently on, the CWRU HEC. I like the intricate carpentry aspects. I’ve done the wall paneling, doors, and some of the Corian on the project.
  • What has been the highlight of your career in construction?
  • Meeting different people and getting to see other people’s skills on the job and learning from them. I really enjoy learning from the other carpenters on the job.

“Brody has consistently been a model employee that keeps safety, quality, and attendance in mind. Brody’s positive attitude and willingness to assist other team members make him the ideal candidate for Employee of Choice.” - Jay Waltz, General Superintendent

  • Where is your favorite project you've worked on?
  • Nationwide FOB building because that was a job that I learned most of what I know about being a carpenter.
  • What advice would you give to someone new to the construction industry?
  • I’d tell them to just show up, do their best, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
  • What is one new thing that you would like to learn with OCP?
  • I’d like to learn how to run a project in a foreman role.

Trevor Householder

  • Position: Journeyman Carpenter
  • Industry Tenure: 23 Years
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 2 Years

“Trevor is a great asset to our team. Trevor’s knowledge and experience in the trade from new construction to remodeling is a huge benefit on site. A good example of Trevor’s knowledge being used on the jobsite is at the Metzger building where Trevor helped frame new openings in a 100-year-old warehouse that OCP turned into apartments in downtown Toledo. Currently, Trevor is helping to install Panel Max soffit on the patient room windows the Generations of Care Tower. Keep up the great work, Trevor! Thank you for all the effort and knowledge you bring to the team.” - Chris Gunderman, Toledo Lead Superintendent

  • What advice would you give to someone new to the construction industry?
  • Have patience. Work hard. Follow instructions. And consider it more or a marathon than a race to the top when it comes to learning.
  • What is your favorite project you have worked on?
  • Toledo Hospital due to the size and scope of the project. The duration of the project. There have been multiple tasks I’ve been a part of and they’ve all expanded my knowledge of how buildings are engineered and the different techniques we can apply in the construction industry.
  • What do you value most about OCP?
  • I really like everyone here, everyone is personable. And we have steady work. I’ve been busy for the two years I’ve been here. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from schools and colleges, to hospitals, and restorations downtown. I’m looking forward to being on more projects in the future!
