Richard Brown, Patrick Young and Cody Newman

OCP’s Employees of Choice are individuals who exemplify the qualities and characteristics that have made our 50 years of success possible. Employees of Choice are employees in the field and office who lead by action to advance safety, productivity, and innovation on projects. Additionally, these employees are consistent, dependable, and contribute to the betterment of the team. Thanks to the hard work of these individuals, OCP has proudly become the interior Contractor of Choice.


Patrick Young

  • Position: Carpenter Apprentice
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 1 Year
  • Industry Tenure: 3.5 Years
  • Training: 3rd Year training in Las Vegas in 2019 at the International Training Center

“Patrick is Dependable. I never worry if he's going to show up. He also shows leadership qualities among peers and other workers. He is always willing to help out the team. Patrick is always looking towards the next step while performing his tasks while not losing focus on the current job at hand. He is very eager to learn and catches on quickly.   • What hobbies do you have outside of work?
  • I like to hunt, fish and build performance diesel cars/trucks in my spare time.
  • Before working at OCP, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have ever had?
  • I worked at a meat market and use to do maintenance there. My main role was to cut meat. Even after cutting all that meat, I love meat still.

Cody Newman

  • Position: Journeyman Finisher
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 1.5 Years
  • Industry Tenure: 3 Years

  • Seeing the building going from nothing to something and being part of that.

  • Be motivated and positive. Be willing to keep learning always.

  • What is your favorite place in the world?
  • Sydney, Australia. That is where my wife and I went for our 25th wedding anniversary.
  • Before working at OCP, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have ever had?
  • Crowd Clearance in Afghanistan.
  • What do you value most about OCP?
  • How military-friendly they are.
