OCP’s Employees of Choice are individuals who exemplify the qualities and characteristics that have made our 50 years of success possible. Employees of Choice are employees in the field and office who lead by action to advance safety, productivity, and innovation on projects. Additionally, these employees are consistent, dependable, and contribute to the betterment of the team. Thanks to the hard work of these individuals, OCP has proudly become the interior Contractor of Choice.

Dan Bartolet

  • Position: Project Manager
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 17 Years
  • Industry Tenure: 35 Years

"Dan is a huge help to the field and me as a project manager. You can always count on Dan to make sure his jobs are OCP ready with materials and info, two key parts of LEAN and TIMMES.   • What brought you to the industry and what made you stay?
  • My father was in the trades as a floor layer. I started working with him after school every day when I was 15 years old. I then became a floor layer and had been doing that for many years for OCP’s floor division. I transitioned from the carpentry world and have been a project manager for OCP for 5 years.
  • What hobbies do you have outside of work?
  • Outdoor sports like hunting, cookouts with family and friends. Watching movies with the family.
  • What advice would you give a new employee?
  • Give it your best and learn from others.

Garret Grub

  • Position: Carpenter
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 1 Year
  • Industry Tenure: 14 Years

"Garret is a 1st year Carpenter Apprentice for OCP and is currently working at the HCOM project for us. Garret has been with OCP for 11 months. Garret is always willing to help others and keeps safety and productivity in mind. He keeps striving to learn new aspects of the trade with a positive mindset to achieve the best quality for everyone. Thank You Garret for everything." - Jay Waltz, General Superintendent Columbus

  • What brought you to the industry and what made you stay?
  • My father brought me to the trades as he is a carpenter himself. He still actively works in the construction industry.
  • What is your favorite project you have worked on?
  • The HCOM building has been my favorite project thus far. My foreman is teaching me how to complete acoustical ceilings and I am really enjoying learning the process.

  • What advice would you give a new employee?
  • Pay attention and listen.

Mike Bisbee

  • Position: Carpenter
  • Length of Employment with OCP: 4 Years
  • Industry Tenure: 19 Years

"Mike is always finding a better or more efficient way to complete a task. Mike has a knack for anticipating problems before they occur and taking necessary steps to avoid them. Mike consistently works toward team goals leading by example, with the mindset that there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome.   • What brought you to the industry and what made you stay?
  • I really enjoy working in the construction industry. I learned about working in construction while in high school. My high school offered vocational classes in construction and they convinced me it was a great career. I took a class and I was hooked.
  • What hobbies do you have outside of work?
  • Hunting, fishing, and hanging out with my kids.

  • What advice would you give a new employee?
  • Come to work with a good attitude and be ready to work. Be on time and do your best every day.
