It’s hard to believe we’re already into the 2nd quarter of the year! By now, it’s no secret that through our Corporate Strategic Planning efforts, we’ve decided to DOUBLE DOWN on our Lean initiatives! To kick things off, all 3 OCP locations and The Choice Group, have engaged in the book entitled, “2 Second Lean” by Paul Akers.

I’m excited to see and hear the buzz that’s surrounding this read. Conversations at our Tuesday morning operations meetings have included the following topics: The 8 Wastes, What Bugs You, The Five S’s, The 3 Pillars and much more! This is just the beginning! There’s a log in sharefile where all Lean ideas/processes are being tracked and shared. Additionally, we have monitors in our lunchrooms that include all of our implemented Lean ideas/processes so we’re able to instantaneously share them throughout the company. How cool is that?

While we ramp up our Lean initiatives, keep the following in mind and Lean will become second nature: “Build trust among the troops, go all-in on ideas that work, appreciate the talents of others, and like the book states, firmly believe that the results of our efforts will positively affect our bottom line!”

In summary, I look forward to DOUBLING DOWN on our Lean initiatives so we can continue to build a Lean culture that makes us The Contractor of Choice!
