Kripke Enterprises (KPI) is a non-ferrous scrap brokerage business specializing mainly in aluminum. The business recently expanded and selected an old warehouse that was dormant for nearly 20 years as their new office and facility for recycling metal. Spanning 232,000 sq ft, 49 states deliver scrap to this location.

The design of the new facility features a multitude of both ceiling and wall textures, including barn wood paneling, acoustical sound screen and Armstrong serpentina. The new headquarters consists of 5 offices, 4 meeting rooms and remaining open space.

With a very aggressive schedule and delays due to a complete roof replacement, OCP’s implementation of time-saving with lean principles was key. Overhead warehouse doors were wrapped in prefabricated sheet metal. A magnet system was used repeatedly on the installation of the metal doors within the facility saving 6 hours worth of work. All deliveries were scheduled just in time.

The facility was completed in November of 2019.
