The Rockwell building is the former home to the East Ohio Gas company. (see below) In 2010, OCP was hired to renovate the building to it’s original grandeur, based on OCP’s reputation for exceptional renovation skills. The project consisted of recreating the first and second floor lobby to its original state, replicating the original plaster profiles. The original plaster casts were carefully cut out of the existing ceiling, crated and shipped to create casts from the original pieces and mold duplicates in Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum. A portion of the existing ceiling was to remain, which made it a challenge to cut out the existing plaster and blend the GFRG molds into the existing ceiling. The project was completed on time and is once again the focal point of the building, which is now the home to the law firm Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP.
