Car retailer Carvana, known for their simplistic car buying experience, is expanding operations with a new 200,000 Square-foot facility in Lorain, Ohio. Carvana allows customers to finance and purchase a car online with home delivery or their car vending machine pick up.

OCP is assisting with the ground up development of their inspection, reconditioning, carwash and distribution facility, a critical component of Carvana’s esteemed reconditioning standards.

Rudolph Libbe Group and OCP have a long standing relationship, completing a North Ridgeview office remodel together and several major projects throughout the Toledo market.

Through close coordination, and OCP’s Lean principles the project is currently coming in under budget. Daily morning huddles and white board utilization to track man-days and production have pushed the project speed and efficiency.

Utilization of prefabrication and grouting 20 door frames within OCP’s prefabrication facility, allowed the work to be done quickly and within a temperature controlled environment vs outside in the Northeast Ohio winter weather.

The specialty car wash within the facility features Nudo Utlite, a specialty product that is optimal for sanitary panel systems and clean rooms. The OCP team was new to the product line and quickly educated themselves on the installation process.

A KEELGRID ceiling system was installed throughout the carwash bay to meet sanitation and corrosion resistance requirements. Perfect for a carwash environment, the product is not affected by moisture and humidity.

The project is estimated to be completed by July 2021.
